World Language Fair Alternate Assignment

If you are unable to attend the World Language Fair this year, you will be required to complete this alternate assignment as homework.
***Please start it soon so that you can take time to do your best!***
• Research a topic related to Spanish-speaking countries or people (no Portuguese countries this time).
• You must have at least two (2) different sources (Wikipedia, Google, etc. do not count).
• Prepare a Power Point presentation about your research topic.
1. It must contain a minimum of 7 slides.
2. Each slide must have pictures and no more than five (5) bullet points. Keep related information together.
3. You must also have a sources slide (not counted among the 7), listing each source you used. (Google and other search engines are NOT sources).
• You will need a certain number of slides written in Spanish.
Spanish 1: 1 slide in Spanish only
Spanish 2: 2 slides in Spanish only

Write it yourself. DO NOT use an online translator! It doesn’t need to be perfect Spanish — I want to be able to tell that you did it yourself. Online translators don’t show me your ability in Spanish and often use incorrect Spanish grammar and vocabulary anyway.
1. Stay simple with your language.
2. Use a dictionary or the glossary in your book if necessary.
3. You can do it!
Do not plagiarize. Write things in your own words or use quotations and appropriate citations.

• You will need a handout with a list of 20 new Spanish vocabulary words you learned that are related to your topic and their English definitions and 5 questions. You DO NOT need to make your own copies. You can submit a paper copy, get it to me by e-mail, or bring in a flash drive or other file storage device.
